It is a dedicated desktop application that safely uses Microsoft Teams by utilizing SHIELD Gate's RBI (Remote Browser Isolation) technology.

The Teams web app runs in an isolated server environment, protecting the user's PC from malware and security threats while providing an equivalent user experience to the regular desktop Teams app.

Q. You can use Teams with just SHIELD Gate, so why is the Teams App necessary?​

You can access Teams through SHIELD Gate web isolation, but there are usability limitations such as:

Web isolation method limitations:

  • No notifications received
  • File drag and drop not possible
  • Close the browser to end the session
  • Handling Video Conference Permissions is Complicated

Q. How do I log in?​

Log in with your SHIELD Gate account (company account).

Login Procedure:

  1. Select SHIELD Gate server to connect on first run
  2. Enter SHIELD Gate account information
  3. Login information is stored locally in an encrypted format.
  4. Automatic login will be possible from the next execution.

Q. Which operating systems are supported?​

Supports Windows, macOS, and Linux.

You can download the installation file suitable for each operating system and use it.

Q. How do I receive notifications?​

The Teams App runs continuously in the background to receive real-time notifications properly.

Difference from Web Isolation Methods:

  • In a web isolation environment, the browser does not receive notifications and they are not displayed.

Q. How do I upload/download files?​

Upload:

  • Check upload status with real-time progress display

Download:

  • When you download a file from Teams, it is saved to your local PC.
  • Malware scanning and sanitization (CDR) during download (depending on administrator settings)

**Reference:**In the web isolation method, drag and drop is not possible, but it is supported normally in the Teams App.

Q. What happens if I minimize or close the app?​

Minimize or Close Window:

  • Run continuously in the background with the tray icon
  • Session is maintained to continue receiving notifications
  • You can reopen the window anytime by clicking the tray icon.

Complete termination:

  • Complete exit when "Exit" is selected from the tray icon.
  • or exit after logging out from the menu

Difference from Web Isolation Methods:

  • Web isolation ends the session when the browser is closed.
  • Teams App maintains session independently of the browser.

Q. Can I use the video conferencing feature?​

Yes, it supports all video conferencing features such as screen sharing, camera, and microphone.

  2. Check if permissions for the camera and microphone are granted.
  3. Check Network Connection Status
  4. Check if the Teams URL is registered on the SHIELD Gate management page.

Q. Can I change the language?​

Yes, it operates according to the browser language.

Q. How is file security processing carried out?​

The following security measures are applied according to the administrator settings:

When uploading:

  • Malware Scan
  • DLP (Data Loss Prevention) Policy Application
  • File Size Limit

When downloading:

  • Malware Scan
  • Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR) Processing
  • Download after converting to a safe file

Such security measures are applied selectively according to the security policy of SHIELD Gate.

Q. What to do if the application does not run?​
