What is SHIELD DRM?

A cloud-native DRM (Digital Rights Management) service that provides document security suitable for cloud collaboration environments such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. It automatically applies conditional policies to important documents distributed in SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Google Drive (My Drive, Shared Drive) to prevent data leakage. It maintains compatibility with existing DRM systems, allowing DRM-encrypted documents created on local PCs to be utilized directly in cloud collaboration tools.

Main Features

  • Conditional Policy-Based Automation — Automatically apply security policies to cloud documents based on conditions such as users, groups, network locations, document types, etc.
  • Support for easy integration with existing security policies and the establishment of new security policies suitable for cloud environments.
  • Providing compatibility with existing DRM encryption documents (DAC · MAC · GRADE)

Microsoft 365 Dedicated

  • Automatic conversion of DRM documents to MIP documents through MIP (Microsoft Information Protection) integration
  • Conversion of MS Office documents according to ZTCA (Zero Trust Cloud Access) policy
  • API to install add-ins on SharePoint sites

Google Workspace Exclusive

  • Evaluate conditional policies and perform document decryption based on Google Drive change detection.
  • At the time of downloading the document to the local PC, Document Security reapplies DRM protection.

Google Workspace Environment Guide
Automatic encryption and label conversion at the time of upload are not provided. Google Drive labels are a feature that provides document classification information and do not include encryption. Files attached to Google Chat are currently not included in the supported scope.
