SHIELD DRM SharePoint Integration Migration Guide
This document has been created to provide information about the changes to the SharePoint integration method used in the Microsoft 365 environment for the SHIELD DRM service. Due to changes in Microsoft's technical policies, the existing Add-In method is no longer supported, and accordingly, the SHIELD DRM service will transition to a new event receiver-based method.
Overview of the Existing Add-In Method and Event Receiver Method
SHIELD DRM has been integrated with Microsoft 365 for interoperability with SharePoint.Add-In Methodhas been used.
This method is.appIt is a structure that individually installs add-ins of this type on each SharePoint site and detects events such as document creation and editing through them.
On the other hand,Event ReceiverThe method directly detects events through a centralized receiving server based on Azure, supporting integrated event management without individual site installations.

Microsoft Policy Changes and SHIELD DRM Service Direction
Microsoft will be effective from April 2, 2026.Azure Access Control Service(ACS)andSharePoint Add-In Modelhas announced the official closure.
Accordingly, SHIELD DRM has established the following policies:
- The Microsoft365 menu using the existing Add-In method isSequential terminationIt works.
- All SHIELD DRM users and customersTransition to Event Receiver MethodThis is needed.
- Within the SHIELD DRM Admin PageEvent Receiver Menuis newly provided, and existing policy and site information can be found in that menu.MigrationThis will proceed.
The conversion work must be completed by March 2026, after which the Add-In method policy will no longer be in effect.

How to Migrate to Event Receiver Method
You can easily switch to the event receiver method on the SHIELD DRM management page.
1. Accessing the Migration Menu
- After logging into the SHIELD DRM admin page, navigate to the [Integration Management > Microsoft365] menu.
- At the top of the menu**"Migration to Event Receiver" button or guidance banner**is exposed.
2. Validation and App Consent Confirmation
- Before proceeding with the migration, the system will automaticallyEvent Receiver Support and PrerequisitesCheck.
- If app consent is required, contact the administrator.Microsoft app permission consent URLThis is provided.
3. Execute Migration
- After checking the migration description in the guide popup,**[Check]**Clicking the button will initiate the migration.
- During the migration, some features of the existing menu may be limited, and after completionEvent Receiver MenuIt will be displayed.
4. Response to Failure
- Some sites may fail to migrate, and regarding thisRetry and Failure List Confirmation UIis provided.
- The reason for the failure can be checked in the detailed logs, and if necessary, please contact the SHIELD DRM operations team.
