How to Use SHIELD DRM

Using SHIELD DRM in Teams​

1. Upload documents to the Teams Files tab​

Upload documents to the Files tab of the team or channel you belong to.

  • Upload documents by dragging and dropping them into the file tab or by clicking the upload menu on your local PC.

2. Automatic Application of MIP Labels to Uploaded Documents​

Documents uploaded to the Teams file tab are automatically converted to MIP documents after a certain period of time. When SHIELD DRM is applied (MIP label applied), the person who modified it will be changed to 'SharePoint app'.

3. Viewing Protected Documents​

When viewing a document with SHIELD DRM applied (MIP label applied), the phrase 'Protected by SHIELD DRM' will be displayed at the bottom of the document.

4. DRM Document Upload​

You can upload and use the DRM document directly without any separate decryption.

Using SHIELD DRM in Cloud Storage​

1. Uploading Documents to OneDrive​

  • Upload documents to OneDrive.
  • Drag & Drop the documents from your local PC to OneDrive or click the upload menu to upload the documents.

2. Automatic Application of MIP Labels to Uploaded Documents​

Documents uploaded to OneDrive are automatically converted to MIP documents after a certain period of time. When SHIELD DRM is applied (MIP label applied), the person who modified it will be changed to 'SharePoint app'.
