3. Security Plugin Agent

Purpose of Use​

Some financial sites and security programs require security plugins that need direct communication with the user's PC. SHIELDGate provides a separate Agent program to support localhost-based communication.

Installation and Execution Procedure​

SHIELDGate automatically displays a modal window prompting the user to install the Agent when accessing a website that requires local communication.

1. Display installation guide modal​

  • When you access the site, an installation guide modal like the one below will appear automatically.

Installation of the SHIELDGate agent is required to support advanced web features.
This website requires integration with internal PC functions (certificates, security modules, etc.).

2. Agent Installation and Execution​

  • Clicking the [Install] button will download the installation file.
  • The downloaded Agent file is saved in the browser's default download path, and the Agent will be activated only after the user runs it manually.
  • During installationAdministrator privilegesThis is needed.
  • After installation, the Agent is copied to the internal path and registered, after which SHIELDGate automatically runs the Agent, so the user does not need to run it manually again.
  • Refreshing the page will complete the integration.

3. Actions on Reconnection​

  • The installed Agent will automatically run after a PC reboot and will be activated automatically when accessing sites that require integration with local security plugins.
  • If a new Agent version is distributed in SHIELDGate in the future, existing users will automatically receive an installation guide modal upon access and will need to reinstall with the new version.
