Web Category

This is a feature that allows you to search for a website URL and retrieve and manage the category classification information of that site. You can control user behavior through conditional policies in the URL input field based on the managed categories.


Web Category Management Functionality

Web category management is a feature that systematically organizes and manages all websites accessed by users by categorizing them.

Basic Operation Method

  1. Category Inquiry: Retrieve the classification information of the site when accessing the website.
  2. Manual correctionThe administrator reviews the existing classification results and modifies them to more accurate categories if necessary.
  3. Policy ApplicationSet access control and usage policies in the URL input field conditional policy based on the categorized categories.

Purpose of Use

  • Efficient Management: Group and manage numerous websites by category.
  • Batch Policy ApplicationApply policies to all sites in the same category with a single configuration.
  • AutomationReduce management burden by querying new site information from the SOFTCAMP category DB.

Search Method

  1. URL input fieldMoving to the menu.
  2. CategorySelect the tab.
  3. URL Category ManagementEnter the URL to search in the section.

Searchable format:

  • Full URL:https://www.sample.com
  • Only the domain:sample.com
  • Including subdomains:mail.sample.com

Search Result Types

1. Existing classified sites

Portal Sites | sample.com

For sites that already have a category assigned, the currently classified category name is displayed on the right.

2. Uncategorized

This site has not yet been assigned a category, and the administrator must select a category manually.


Category Modification and Management

Change existing category / Assign new category

  1. in the search results**[Revision]**Click the button.
  2. Select the appropriate category from the dropdown.

Custom Category Management

Check custom list

You can check the currently customized sites in the right panel.

Display Information:

  • URL domain
  • Currently assigned category
  • Modification Date and Time

Rollback feature

  1. Select the URL you want to revert from the custom list.
  2. **[Rollback]**Click the button.
  3. Click **[OK]** in the confirmation message to restore to the default category.

⚠️ When rolling back, the corresponding URL will return to the default classification of the SOFTCAMP category DB.


Conditional Policy Linking

After managing the categories, create customized policies by category in the conditional policy of the URL input field.

How to set up policies

  1. Category Classification: Classify websites into appropriate categories
  2. Policy Creation: Create policies by category in the URL input field conditional policy
  3. Automatic application: Policies are automatically applied to all sites in the category.

Work Focus

정책: 업무시간(09:00-18:00) 접근 차단

Usage Scenario

Scenario 1: Separation of Work Site and Personal Site

Purpose: Improvement of Work Hour Concentration

How to set up:

  1. Classify work-related sites as "Business", "Academic Information", etc.
  2. Classify personal sites into categories such as "Entertainment", "Games", "Shopping", etc.
  3. Block access to personal categories during work hours in conditional policies.

Scenario 2: Blocking Security Risk Sites

Purpose: Strengthening Organizational Security

How to set up:

  1. Classify dangerous sites as "Malware Distribution Sites", "Phishing Sites", etc.
  2. Apply a complete access restriction policy for this category.
  3. New risky sites are managed and blocked in the SOFTCAMP category DB.

Scenario 3: Department-specific Custom Access Control

PurposeAccess control tailored to the characteristics of departmental tasks.

How to set up:

  1. Development Team: Allow "Academic Information" and "Cloud" categories.
  2. Marketing Team: Allow "Business" and "Shopping" categories.
  3. HR Team: Allow "Government/Organizations" and "Business" categories.
