Compression Policy Settings

[Policy] > [Basic Decontamination Policy] > [Compression] Settings

The compression tab sets restrictions considering system performance and security when handling compressed files such as ZIP, TAR, and 7Z.
You can limit the number of files inside the compressed file and the nesting depth to prevent system load and block attempts to hide malicious content.

⚠️ The permission to set the basic de-identification policy is granted to [Administrator Type - System Administrator], and
Administrator permission settings can be configured in [Administrator Settings] > [Account and Permission Management].

Detailed Description of Settings Items

Policy NameDescription
Limit on the Number of Items in a Compressed FileLimits the maximum number of files to process within the compressed file.
If there are too many files in the compressed file, the demilitarization processing time will increase, leading to increased system load and causing other file processing requests to wait.
---
When set to '0', it operates with no limits and processing time may be longer.
Compression File Subdirectory Depth LimitSpecifies the maximum allowed depth of nested compression.
In a typical environment, more than 3 levels of nesting is rare, and exceeding this is considered an attempt to hide malicious content or bypass policies.
---
Setting it to '0' will operate with no limits, but it is not recommended as it may cause service errors due to abnormal nesting structures.

Input Rules and Precautions

  • For large compressed files or compressed files containing many files, processing time may be prolonged, so a proper limit on the number is recommended.
  • Abnormal nesting structures can be considered attempts to hide malicious content or system attacks, so a proper depth limit is recommended.

Notes

  • After changing the settings, you can check the records and restore them in the [Policy Change History] menu.
